Belgium had already lost Thibaut Courtois to injury in the second half and started without their captain Youri Tielemans, who broke down in the warm-up. Jude Bellingham equalised in first-half stoppage time and scored again three minutes into extra time, converting the rebound after Orjan Nyland could only parry a Morgan Rogers shot. Thomas Tuchel started Madueke ahead of Saka, with Saka introduced in the second half and Eze on late. Norway had reached their first quarter-final at any major tournament. They will not go further.

Martinelli came off the bench for Matheus Cunha and scored the latest winning goal in normal time of a World Cup knockout match since 1966, according to Opta, converting a Bruno Guimaraes pass in the 96th minute to complete Brazil's comeback from a goal down. It sent Brazil through to face Norway in the Round of 16.

Did Mikel Merino score again in the quarter-final? Yes.
