Osman Kamara has joined Championship club Blackburn Rovers on a permanent transfer, subject to the completion of regulatory processes.

The 19-year-old forward, who joined the club's Academy in May 2014, signed his first professional contract with the club in June 2024. During his time with us, the London-born striker made 77 appearances across our under-18 and under-21 teams, contributing 21 goals and five assists.

On the international stage, Kamara has represented Sierra Leone at youth level, earning his debut at the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations. He made three appearances and provided an assist as Sierra Leone reached the quarter-finals of the tournament.

After signing his professional contract with the club in 2024, Kamara said: “I feel really delighted to have my family watch me sign my first professional contract. It’s been a lot of hard work throughout the years, but I’m happy that they can see that it’s paid off.

“It gives you that sense that, if you do work hard, things will be given to you. I’m going to keep doing the same in the future.

“It was an easy decision. The coaches and staff around here are very welcoming and bring out the best in me, so I’ll keep improving as a player and a person.

“Next season, I’m going to try to build on my goalscoring. I know it’s going to be harder for the under-21s, but I have to level up and keep improving.

“I’ve been going through this journey with my teammates for a long time now, from a young age, maybe under-10s, so it’s nice to see all of us reaping the benefits of our hard work and being together.”
