Charles Sagoe Jr has joined Swedish top-flight side Kalmar FF on loan until January 2027, marking the next step in the young forward's development journey.
The 21-year-old has been one of Arsenal's standout U21 performers this season, racking up 14 appearances across the Premier League 2 and the Vertu Trophy, contributing an impressive five goals and seven assists. That kind of output didn't go unnoticed, as Sagoe Jr earned a spot on the bench when Arsenal beat Slavia Prague 3-0 in the Champions League back in November 2025.
He joined the Gunners' academy from Fulham back in July 2015 as a schoolboy, progressing through the ranks to sign professional terms in July 2022. Over that time he's racked up more than 60 appearances for the U21s and developed into a versatile attacking option, comfortable both as a forward and in midfield.
He made his competitive senior debut for the club in September 2023, coming on against Brentford in the Carabao Cup, before heading out on loan to gain first-team experience. A spell at Swansea City in the Championship was followed by a stint with Shrewsbury Town in League One last season.
This move to Kalmar FF is his third loan spell and his first abroad, with the Swedish Allsvenskan offering a solid platform for a player ready to take on regular first-team football.
His move is the latest in a series of departures from Arsenal this season. Several players have gone out on loan, including Karl Hein, who joined Werder Bremen; Reiss Nelson, who joined Brentford; Fabio Vieira, who joined Hamburger SV; Ethan Nwaneri, who joined Marseille; Ismeal Kabia, who joined Shrewsbury Town; and Lucas Martin Nygaard, who joined Brabrand IF.
Among players who have left the club permanently are Oleksandr Zinchenko, who has joined Ajax; Maldini Kacurri, who completed a permanent move to Grimsby Town; and Osman Kamara, who moved to Blackburn Rovers.
